Recently I ordered the 21 Day Keto – Budget (Low-Carb / High-Fibre) meal plan from FitChef. I’m going to share my day to day meals, my thoughts on them and how the plan is going for the next 21 days. I hope you find this helpful if you are trying to decide if you want to buy this as well πŸ™‚

It’s officially the end of day 1 of my FitChef Meal Plan, so it’s time for me to share my thoughts on today’s dishes and where my hunger level was at.


Ordering from Fitchef was straightforward. You just choose the plan you want, add it to the cart and then checkout.Β 

The Package

You receive one large box with all your frozen food containers. You can choose to split the order if you don’t have three shelves open in your freezer (but keep in mind you’ll pay a fee for the second delivery).

There were 45 items in total (9 were the chicken snacks).


Although I don’t always enjoy breakfast, my stomach usually goes insane around 9 am so then I decide to eat some Futurelife bran flakes. It seems to be the only thing I can stomach early in the morning. It’s quite yummy.



Today’s lunch meal was: Boerewors Breedie with sweet potato mash and green beans.

Let me just say, I HATE GREEN BEANS! And of course this was part of my first meal… *sigh*

I enjoyed the meal as this was my first boerewors breedie but I just could not finish all the green beans. I really tried πŸ™

One thing I heavily disliked about this dish is that when I took my first bite of the breedie, a tomato popped in my mouth and it felt and tasted awful. So next time I’ll either pop the tomatoes or just keep an eye out for ones that look like balloons…

Afternoon Snack

Today’s snack was: Chicken Snacker – Lightly salted

Does it also look like fish to anyone else or just me??

These were okay, I had to add some mayo as they were very dry but other than that, they kept me full until dinner time.



Today’s dinner was: Ostrich Potjie with mixed veggies, green beans (AGAIN?!) and spinach.

Another first for me… I have never eaten ostrich. It tasted fine but not much to get excited about. The veggies would have been fine if it wasn’t so watery. I’m guessing that’s the main issue with freezing food? Not sure but definitely didn’t taste great with all that water.


It wasn’t too great a start with today’s meals but I got through it. I might have to think of a way to get rid of all the water, especially in the veggies…

I definitely felt hungry an hour after this, so my night was quite difficult.
